The Air Liquide group is continuously enriching its technological expertise through its research efforts. With its 8 research centers in Europe, North America and Japan, Air Liquide is continuously improving its expertise in the manufacturing processes of its customers, to innovate in the areas of gas production, applications and related services. With respect to gas production, Air Liquide is currently developing a full spectrum of technologies to provide customers with a full range of gas production units ranging from the smallest to the largest in the world, with gas purities to meet their specific requirement.

Research is also working to develop new types of gases and applications, such as for the electronics industry, where increasingly powerful chemical gases are being developed to etch and clean the silicon wafers used to make the semiconductors which can be found in the multitude of everyday electronic devices.
